Tuesday Morning Hot Links
The first weekend of the Premier League is less than two weeks away!
Leeds United
19-goal scorer Joel Piroe knows that, as of right now, he’s the 9 option, and it’s up to him to prove that he can cut it in the Premier League.
On the heels of Daniel Farke’s warning that Leeds aren’t deep enough on defense, it’s looking likely that Leeds will bring in Mattia Zanotti aka The Tractor, from Swiss Super League side FC Lugano.
Leicester City are looking at starting the 2025-26 season in the Second Tier with a -9 point total, thanks to financial questions surrounding the club. This alone would lead one to believe that Leicester City need to offload players, which is where Leeds comes in with interest in attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss. El Khannouss reportedly has a relegation transfer clause which can be activated for £24.5 million, but it allegedly expires in less than two weeks. So if Leeds are ready to trigger that price, they can have El Khannouss tomorrow. If not, and that deadline passes, then Leicester has more power in negotiating before the end of the Summer Transfer Window on September 1.
Former Leeds United Great Joe Gelhardt is likely to wrap up a season-long loan to Hull City, returning to the Club with which he played from January-end of 2025 season.
Igor Paixao said that his decision to join Olympique Marseille over Leeds United was “easy” and, honestly, can’t really blame him…
