Thursday Morning Hot Links
Leeds United
Leeds are in “advanced talks” to loan Mateo Joseph out to RCD Mallorca this season, giving the 21-year old striker a chance to play in his home country. Joseph has been a little bitch about this whole thing over the course of the summer, but a strong showing for Mallorca (or wherever he ends up this season) would build his value for what will likely be a permanent sale next summer.
Leeds have some level of interest in Marseille winger Jonathan Rowe, who left Norwich prior to last season. But, as with any half-decent player this close to the beginning of the season, there will be competition for his services, so Leeds would need to act quickly.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has apparently been offered to Leeds, but his £400,000/week salary (thanks, Saudi Blood Money) is a tall order for a club trying desperately to rid themselves of Patrick Bamford’s £70,000/week.
James Maddison’s torn ACL could force Tottenham’s hand in their transfer plans and open them up to keeping Former Leeds Great/permanent transfer link Manor Solomon.
Opta picks 16-year old Harry Gray as Leeds’ potential breakout star this season.
Alan Shearer and Joe Cole have both slotted Leeds to get relegated this season.
